What is your Name, how Old are You, where are You from?
I’m Elena, 29 years old, and originally from Upper Austria, but I’ve lived in Vienna for the past few years. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Medical Informatics at the Medical University of Vienna.
How Did You Become Aware of RISC Software?
I became aware of RISC Software through the FH>>next career fair in Hagenberg. Since I want to move professionally more toward Health Data Science, I was particularly drawn to RISC’s medical research projects.
In which Department Were You Working and What Were your Tasks?
I was in the LLM team, which belongs to the Data Intelligence Unit and, interestingly, currently consists only of women.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to work together with Medical Informatics on a clinical research project from which an AI is to emerge in the long term that predicts when patients can safely be transferred from the intensive care unit to the general ward.
My tasks were very diverse and included research, data analysis and preparation, as well as implementation.
How Did You Experience your Work Environment?
I found the work environment very pleasant. I was able to work very independently on my tasks and try to solve problems on my own. However, when I got stuck, I always knew whom I could turn to with my questions. Everyone is very supportive, and you can organize your time in a very flexible way. In addition, you have the opportunity to work on real projects and actively contribute, which of course offers great added value for an internship.
Will You Continue Working at RISC Software GmbH?
Not for the time being, but who knows what the future holds. 🙂
